Mission Contribution:

To plan, develop, and execute the integration of Goodwill’s learning and education services and the associated general communities including all internal and external partners. Leads the learning and framework needed to support the professional and personal development of our customers, team members, and leaders and affect organizational performance improvement through the development of a learning organization, education, and training programs.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Demonstrates Goodwill Core Values in all actions, and ensures adherence to Guiding Principles and CARF standards.  Culture Keeper: demonstrates and leads positive organizational culture development.
  2. Creates training materials and plans- updates as needed.
    • Develop interactive eLearning content that consistently reflects our current brand guidelines and design elements.
    • Creates, develops, and updates engaging learning activities and course content for targeted audiences.
    • Assists in developing training how-to guides and visual aids.
    • Creates interactions to chunk the learning so that learners can process and test new knowledge/skills in a low-stress environment.
    • Adheres to a writing process that includes creating learning objectives, outlining, and organization/drafting, editing, and revising.
    • Creates competency checks that are directly tied to learning objectives.
  3. Integrity of Learning Programs
    • Helps drive operational performance improvement through the utilization of our Learning Management System, Goodwill®U.
    • Maintains goals and metrics in regard to training hours and outcomes to optimize instructional value.
    • Conducts learning trend analysis to identify opportunities and communicates with to applicable leadership teams.
    • Collects, evaluates, and analyzes data relating to training programs and their link to performance on the job for return on investment.
    • Reports online training numbers on a monthly and recurring basis.
    • Supports Goodwill team members with learning issues related to available training/resources within the organization.
    • Researches and reviews new software products for L&D.
  4. Manages projects with tight deadlines and helps/maintains the development of a content/project creation calendar with goals and deadlines.
  5. Trains and manages Learning Management System.
  6. Develops working relationships with other Goodwill teams.
  7. Improve the organization’s capabilities to learn and grow through Goodwill’s Core Values by facilitating, coaching, analyzing, and managing learning and development.
  8. Helps drive operational performance improvement through the delivery of high impact training.
  9. Remains current with operational changes and developments within the company and oversees updates or improvements with the curriculum.
  10. Collaborates with other department leaders to help ensure optimal development and utilization of learning programs for all Goodwill Teams.
  11. All other duties assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to respond professionally in situations with difficult employees demonstrating strong customer service.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiar with Adobe Suite products, Microsoft Office Suite, e-learning development software, Photoshop, authoring tools, and/or other media design software.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with team leaders, team members, and customers to assess organizational training needs.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Analyze, problem-solve, and make recommendations. Utilize collaborative problem-solving methods.
  • Exercise discretion while handling confidential information.
  • Prioritize multiple projects.

Training & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred
  • 2-5 years’ experience in related field preferred

Special Requirements

  • Must be able to work occasional after-hours and weekends. This position may require travel to multiple locations on a daily basis.
  • Incumbent must possess a valid driver’s license, appropriate insurance coverage and a privately owned reliable means of transportation to travel throughout territory.

Physical Requirements: Using a computer while sitting for extended periods is common.

No heavy lifting is expected, though occasional exertion of about 20 lbs. of force (e.g., carrying binders, portfolios, laptops) may be required. Good manual dexterity required to use common office equipment (e.g., computers, mobile devices, calculators, copiers, scanners).

Job Location: Marion office: will travel to stores and community-based sites as needed; some overnight travel to meetings and conferences.
