Work Services / Opportunity Plus
Goodwill’s Work Services/Opportunity Plus Programs provide transitional to permanent employment opportunities for individuals with employment barriers. Participants are given a chance to gain valuable work experience in a real world environment, which enables them to develop a work history and have a current reference from an employer. Demonstrating success in the work environment can significantly increase the likelihood of getting hired in an unsubsidized job for participants with unfavorable or no work history.
The programs not only improve the work skills and confidence level of individuals, but they also benefit the community at large by adding productive members to the workforce.
Prison Outreach
The Prison Outreach Program offers job readiness training, along with other tools and resources, which the inmates can use once they are released into the community.
Job Coaching
Job coaches specialize in assisting individuals with barriers to employment learn and accurately carry out job duties. They provide one-on-one training tailored to the needs of individuals. Job coaches may first do a job analysis to identify the job duties, followed by developing a specific plan as to how they can best train the individual to work gradually on his/her own until he/she is completely self-sufficient and able to perform job duties accurately and effectively without assistance.
