It's what your local Goodwill is all about
...It's about having a chance, not charity.
...It's about feeding one's family with money that's earned.
...It's about having a job.
...It's about the self-respect that comes with having a paycheck.
...It's about lowering crime by raising job skills.
...It's about helping children by hiring their parents.
...It's about reducing welfare by increasing job training.
...It's about jobs that pay real wages.
...It's about work to support and strengthen real families.
...It's about job training and employment.
...And that's what we're all about.

Message from the President/CEO
Dear Friends,
As President/CEO of Marion Goodwill Industries, serving Marion, Delaware, Union, Crawford, and Morrow Counties, I would like to take this opportunity to share some of the many successes we have had in the past year and thank everyone who has contributed.

We have chosen the theme of HERITAGE for this year’s annual report. When I hear the word “heritage,” I immediately think of continuing positive traditions that have worked for generations. Since 1902, when the first Goodwill store opened in Boston, Goodwill’s Mission has changed very little . . . it’s just grown! For generations, Goodwill has striven to make a positive impact in the community by passing down job skills and preparing individuals for gainful employment.

As a community member, “Your donations help create jobs locally.” Donations generate the need for more stores and increase revenue that helps us support our mission. In the past year we proudly opened two new stores, one in Sunbury and one in Powell. With these two new stores, we have created more jobs.

We encourage you to continue to spread the word about Goodwill. Goodwill is more than just a well-known chain of retail stores . . . it’s a TRADITION, a tradition of donating, recycling, of hope, and of growing through community involvement. Most of all, it’s a tradition of helping people with barriers to employment gain independence . . . through the power of GOODWILL.

Robert Jordan
President/CEO
